Wow … I am a BIG TIME Winner!

In the last few days, I’ve won …

get this … SIX lotteries!  They are all from the UK and I didn’t even have to enter them. Aren’t I lucky?   NOT!  The scammers seem to be operating at a frenzied pace this week.

Be sure you know about the lottery scams that abound on the internet. The scammers use a variety of techniques to get your email address and then send you the wonderful news that you have won.

When you go to claim your big winnings they will ask you for your bank account numbers. A few days later instead of finding yourself a few hundred thousand richer, you will find that your bank account has been cleared out.   OR the scammers will tell you that in order to collect your prize, they need a small fee to cover their clearing and transfer costs.

Here’s the REALITY.

If you didn’t enter the lottery and have a TICKET, you can’t have won. Don’t even open the email, just delete it.

Here are a pile of examples of the “you’ve won the lottery” scams  and other scams that abound on the internet.  Protect yourself by knowing what the scams look like.

Be sure to NEVER enter contests with your regular email address. There are plenty of places you can get free email accounts … open them and discard them after 3 or 4 months when they start getting clogged with spam and junk mail.

Have a winning day!

Melanie
