I’ve been reading your Contest News and Freelance News letters for years. I’ve entered over a dozen contests (and have won 3) because of you.

I’d love to volunteer to participate in finding and writing about writing contests. Let me know what you need.

I’d like to let your readers know about our limerick writing contests and perhaps help with blogging. Here’s the latest press release just sent to over 800 publications, writers and writers groups:

INCREASED PRIZE – LOWER ENTRY FEE

The originators of the popular on-line WRITE LIMERICKS – WIN CASH limerick contest have announced a larger prize and reduced entry fee. Reduction of the entry fee for each limerick to just $1 rewards and encourages contestants for their creativity in entering limericks in this enriching and entertaining competition.
Limericks can be posted easily on www.limerickcontests.com and the $1 entry fee paid using a convenient PayPal link. The changes take place immediately and complete information is available on the website. Entries can also be sent by mail to: Limerick Contest, 2621 Shamrock Drive, Venice FL 34293.
Co-authors Albert Adler and Richard Harrison point out that the receipt of entries from as far away as Australia, England, Europe, South Africa and Canada are testaments to the popularity of the witty rhymes.
The subject for this month’s contest is SPORTS – any sport, team, sports figure or witty observation a writer can fit into five lines may win cash or a special merit certificate. The deadline to submit is August 30,2006. Here’s a sample limerick:

In sports the hot topic is doping.
Big names in the games are just hoping
They’ll never be asked,
Found out or unmasked –
Till then they are coping or moping.

The subject for September’s contest has already been announced. It is FAMILY - children, parents, crazy relatives, kith and kin of every kind. The deadline is September 31, 2006.
