I’m not into games and so my ignorance on this may show.
Mardi Gras 3000 is a fantasy game where …
Terrapyre warriors rule the night. Celestial knights command the day. For one hour, at dawn and dusk, they clash. The clan that retrieves the Grail and unlocks a Portal will control reality.
The publisher is going to be developing a novel series based on the game AND a short-story anthology.
The contest part of this is getting your short story published in the anthology … where basically the “prize” is $20 payment, copies of the book and … getting published! 3000 words or less.
The novella/ novel part of this is less like a contest and more like a call for submissions. If your novella/novel gets chosen (and since they will be publishing a series, there is more than one chance of getting picked) you will get a 10% royalty deal (which is better than most) copies of the books and FAME. Novellas (20,000 to 49,999 words) and novels (50,000 words or more).
There is NO charge to enter. There are NO age restrictions and as far as I can tell International elegibility (in English).
DEADLINE: March 1, 2007
Start writing. This is a great excuse to write a book … the background and character types are already developed for you!
